The project for the construction of the Integrated Wood Processing Enterprise of JSC “Bereznik” received a second-degree diploma in the category “Best Investment Project in the Forestry Sector of the Vologda Region.”
On January 20, 2021, as part of the annual regional “Investor of the Year” competition, Governor of the Vologda Region Oleg Kuvshinnikov presented the award to Alexey Abramov, General Director of JSC “Bereznik.”
JSC “Bereznik” was established in the Vologda Region in 2018 and is currently the only resident of the Sokol Industrial Park.
Construction of the Integrated Wood Processing Enterprise on a land plot of 202.3 thousand square meters in the city of Sokol started in 2019. By the end of 2020, the total amount of the company’s own investment in the project exceeded RUB 800 million. The total project cost is estimated at more than RUB 3 billion. The new enterprise will create 300 jobs.
“The construction of the enterprise with a capacity of 84.5 thousand cubic meters of finished products per year will allow the Vologda Region to become a leading producer of sanded plywood in Russia,” says Alexey Abramov, General Director of JSC “Bereznik.” “Our company’s priorities are creating new jobs in the single-industry town of Sokol, increasing tax revenues to budgets at all levels, and developing the export potential of the Vologda Region. We are pleased that our project has been recognized at such a high level.”
Commissioning of the first-stage plywood production facilities in the city of Sokol is scheduled for 2021. The enterprise is expected to reach full design capacity in 2025.
